Memories of a fantastic summer at Villa Mercedes: See you in 2024!
As Shakespeare said, “And summer’s lease hath all too short a date”. Summer has already vanished, but in its wake it has left loads of great memories of a season that’s brought us new things, reunions and new friends to Villa Mercedes, one of the most romantic restaurants in San Antonio and Ibiza.
Located on the promenade of San Antonio, opposite the marina, this summer villa built in the early 20th century has welcomed many customers this summer who wanted to dine outdoors and have a cocktail whilst enjoying the sea breeze. It’s also hosted special events, like our dinner for the Sant Bartomeu fiestas with a view of the firework display, or the Music at Villa Mercedes by Codorniu Selecta dinners, where we paired our dishes with live shows and an exclusive selection of cavas from one of the oldest wineries in Europe.

The summer stars
Our season began with big news: the arrival of our Argentinian chef, Iván Acquista, who created for Villa Mercedes a modern, Mediterranean proposal with tributes to San Antonio bay and its fishing tradition. Out of all his creations, our guests especially appreciated the cherry tomato, watermelon salad with a basil and pistachio dressing; the patatas bravas (potatoes in a spicy sauce) with chifera sauce and aioli, the garlicky prawns, the Josper-grilled crayfish with Ibizan frita (sautéed potatoes, peppers and herbs) and the Angus Picanha. And for dessert, the most popular options were the soft cream and dulce de leche flan and the matcha cheesecake.

This season’s signature cocktails at Villa Mercedes
This summer we also had a brand new cocktail list, with refreshing, delicious proposals such as the Golden Mercedes (Jack Daniels, Amaro and honey syrup), Tani’s Moon (butterfly blue pea flower infused with G-vine, lime juice, syrup and orange) and Mayahuel (Mezcal Ojo de Dios, pineapple juice, lime juice, passion fruit, agave syrup and Port). Tempting proposals to stretch the evening after dinner, as our garden is one of the best places in San Antonio to have a drink. Not only for the atmosphere and our fantastic cocktail list, but also for the music shows we’ve been offering all summer, from Monday to Sunday.

Music at Villa Mercedes in 2023
Music has always been present during the summer evenings at Villa Mercedes with our daily music shows and DJ sessions that were the best accompaniment for our dinners. This season we had a full programme of resident DJs: Fabiano Pax, Be.Lanuit, Andy Warbuton, Russ Farelo and Hans Orende, plus the performances by Camilo Miranda, Meister, Gareth Stirling and Buda. We also hosted the live concerts by Neorama, Swingin Tonic and Half Blood Trio, especially as part of the special events called Music at Villa Mercedes by Codorniu Selecta.
And with these wonderful memories, we bid you all farewell until next summer 2024, when we’ll continue to expand Villa Mercedes’s album with loving reunions, new friends, joyful toasts, great music sessions and fabulous dinners under the Ibizan summer stars.
