If you’re looking for a special restaurant to have dinner on Sant Bartomeu’s Day, book today your table at Villa Mercedes, a beautiful summer villa built in the early 20th century. Based on the “from market to table” concept, our menu offers Med flavours with a few international suggestions, as well as refreshing cocktails to make a toast that night. If you’re all in, remember that the fireworks are at midnight and are set off on the other side of the bay, so our garden turns into a fabulous viewpoint of the pyrotechnic show.

As it’s a day to celebrate, we suggest the following dishes that pair nicely with the festive vibe: for starters, a platter of Iberian Serrano ham with glass bread and grated tomato and steak tartar with Carasatu bread. The programme for the Sant Bartomeu fiestas includes activities and events for all ages and tastes. In the following list we’ve highlighted proposals that are great for both visitors and locals.

• SananFresh Hip Hop Festival (August 17th, 7pm): Concerts, basketball 3x3, graffiti and urban culture exhibition and FalsaAlarma performance. Where? In Sa Punta des Molí.

• II Blues Night Festival. (August 17th, 8pm): Blues night with the Madrid band Sanpa Trio and the stellar Alejandra Burgos & The Soul Connectors. On s’Arenal beach.

• Mockers Revolution (August 18th, 8pm): DJ session with soul and rock ‘n’ roll music mixed by DJs Gary Peachey and Stomp Rocker; dance classes given by Sunset Swing Club, vinyl records sale and classic car show. On s’Arenal beach.

• VIII Sunset Swing Festival. (23rd and 24th August, 8pm) Rock ‘n’ roll classes, DJ Betterman performance, tattoo show and concerts by The Metralles, Dea Tanit and Frank Harvey Rockabilly Trio

• Procession and ball pagès folk dance (August 24th, 9.30pm): the Saint’s procession starts and ends in the church square, followed by traditional Ibizan folk dance (Ball pagès). This is a great chance to discover the singularities of this unique dance in the Mediterranean.

• La Movida de Sant Bartomeu (August 24th - 10pm): DJ session by DJ Petit & Vázquez with the best songs of the 80s and 90s. Fireworks at midnight.

And after August 24th...

14th Swim out to Ses Llagostes cave (August 25th, 10am), 8th Sunset Swing Festival and the Hawaiian Hula Party (August 25th, 8pm), Rockin’Vermut at 45 RPM (August 30th, 8pm), the Carthaginian and Romans Fiesta (August 30th and 31st)...
